Sorenson VP-100 Tips

 Adjusting the Video Screen
Introduction
The latest version of the VP-100 software includes a video adjustment screen. This screen allows you to adjust the Video settings on your VP-100, as lighting conditions and video quality require. To improve the video quality you can adjust the Gain, Brightness, Contrast, and Saturation, see Table1 for more information.

Note: If you are experiencing problems with your video due to lighting, it is recommended to adjust the lighting, as needed, in the room the VP-100 is in. If adjusting the lighting does not solve the problem then adjust the video settings.

Menu Path: Default Main Screen > Settings > Video

  1. In the Standard Default View, select the Settings Button with your VP-100 remote control.

  2. In the Settings Screen, select the Video button with your VP-100 remote control.

  3. The Video screen appears

Note: For the Gain, Brightness, Contrast, and Saturation settings, the minus sign (-) means decrease and the plus sign (+) means increase.

Option Description
Automatically adjust video brightness For most conditions, the VP-100 correctly adjusts the video brightness automatically for lighting conditions. Deselect the checkbox when the light conditions are affecting the video quality and the quality does not improve.

Note: If you are experiencing problems with your video due to lighting (either too dark or too light), it is recommended that you adjust the lighting in the room the VP-100 is in. If that does not solve the problem then adjust the video settings.
Gain Intensifies the lighting conditions within the image. Use the VP-100 remote control's arrow keys to increase or decrease the amount of Gain according to the lighting conditions. Increase the Gain if you are in a room with low lighting conditions or decrease if you are in a very bright room.

This setting is not available if the "Automatically adjust video brightness" checkbox is selected.
Brightness Affects how bright the overall image appears, An image with a lot of brightness looks white. Use the VP-100 remote control's arrow keys to increase or decrease the amount of Brightness according to the lighting conditions. Increase the Brightness if you are in a room with low lighting conditions or decrease if you are in a very bright room.

This setting is not available if the "Automatically adjust video brightness" checkbox is selected.
Contrast Adjusts the difference between the light and dark areas of the video. The higher the Contrast the lighter the video appears.
Saturation Adjusts the intensity of the colors. With high saturation, the colors appear very bright; with low saturation, colors look washed out.
Set Defaults Restores the original settings that the VP-100 was shipped with.
