Sorenson's new ntouch VP videophone is the next evolution in deaf communication. ntouch VP has all the capabilities of the Sorenson VP-200 videophone, but adds many exciting new features. Deaf users can make and receive Sorenson Video Relay Service (SVRS) calls using ntouch VP, as well as make direct calls to other videophone users. ntouch VP also includes the popular Sorenson Video Center feature and an enhanced Phonebook feature.
No. All VP-200 videophones are being replaced by ntouch VP. When you receive a Sorenson ntouch VP videophone, it will replace the VP-200 that you currently use. Your Sorenson account and videophone phone number will be used with ntouch VP.
No. You will continue to use the same local 10-digit number and Direct VP number if you have one that you used with the VP-200.
No. You are not required to upgrade. But, to be able to enjoy the many new features including Sorenson HD, Deaf SignMail, searchable Contacts list, and Block List, you will need to upgrade to an ntouch VP.
To receive ntouch VP you must be deaf or hard-of-hearing, use ASL to communicate, choose Sorenson as your default VRS provider, have high-speed Internet access, and be a U.S. resident
You will continue to use the Sorenson VP-200 videophone installed in your home and/or office until your city is scheduled for ntouch VP installations. Eventually, all VP-200 videophones will be replaced with ntouch VP videophones. After ntouch VP installations begin in your city, you will be contacted by a Sorenson trainer to schedule your installation.
Yes. ntouch VP and the Sorenson VRS service are free to all qualified deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
Sorenson must verify that all potential ntouch VP customers are deaf and use ASL to communicate. A Sorenson Trainer will do this verification while installing the ntouch VP. The trainer will show you how to use ntouch VP and answer your questions.
No. Your hearing friends and family are not qualified to receive an ntouch VP because Sorenson videophones and SVRS service are provided only for use by deaf and hard-of-hearing people who use ASL to communicate.
Yes. Your Sorenson account and videophone phone number, will be used with ntouch VP.
Yes. You can place and receive calls directly to and from other deaf users who have a Sorenson VP-200, ntouch VP, ntouch PC, ntouch Mobile, and all other compatible videophone endpoint devices. Endpoint devices from other providers must be provisioned with the NeuStar iTRS database.
Yes. However, you cannot save IP addresses or URLs as part of a contact.
Yes. The hearing person called through SVRS must speak English or Spanish.
Yes. You can place and receive VCO calls from ntouch VP. The feature works slightly differently from the VP-200. You must identify the contacts you want to call using VCO.

You can open the Call History list from the Home screen by selecting the Call History button in the left-hand column of the screen. You can also quickly open the list when you are at the Home screen by pressing the the "Enter" key or button or "Down" key on the remote.
You can use the Page Up and Page Down keys on the remote control in the Call History list, the Video Center list, the Phonebook list, or the Phonebook alphabetical column. Just go to the desired list and then press the Page/Zoom keys on the remote control to quickly move up or down the list.

Yes. When the Sorenson trainer replaces the VP-200 with an ntouch VP, your existing Contacts list will automatically be transferred from the VP-200 to the ntouch VP. You cannot import contacts from other videophone accounts (such as ntouch Mobile or ntouch PC).
You can store up to 500 contacts.
The Triple-Tap function is part of the ntouch VP Searchable Contacts feature. The Triple-Tap function lets you quickly navigate to a contact using the remote control. First select to view the Contacts list and then press the appropriate number key on the remote control multiple times to display the first letter of the contact name.
No. Photos cannot currently be stored for ntouch VP contacts. However, you can assign avatars (icons that look like people) to each of your contacts to help you identify the contacts when shown in a list.
Yes. When you create a contact, you can mark the contact as requiring a Spanish-speaking interpreter.You can also dial 1-866-9-VRSLATINO (1-866-987-7528) to place a Spanish VRS call directly.

You can view SignMail and other videos sent to your phone number in the Video Center. ntouch VP also offers an exciting new feature named "Deaf SignMail". Deaf SignMail lets you record a SignMail video for Sorenson VP-200, ntouch VP, ntouch PC, or ntouch Mobile users.
Yes. This new feature is named "Deaf SignMail." You can record a SignMail video for another deaf user.
The new Deaf SignMail feature requires the new Sorenson HD™ technology. The VP-200 does not support Sorenson HD. Fortunately, VP-200 users can receive Deaf SignMail videos recorded by ntouch VP users.
You can receive Deaf SignMails from ntouch VP users as soon as ntouch VPs are released to the public.
No. The Deaf SignMail feature includes a standard greeting video that asks callers to leave you a short video message.
No. You cannot view any videos during calls. You can open the Video Center to view videos between calls.
You may have 100 SignMails; this includes Deaf SignMails and VRS SignMails.
You will not be able to receive any more SignMails until you delete some old videos.
SignMail videos are automatically deleted after 30 days or ten viewings.
Yes. You can use ntouch VP to make an emergency 911 call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When you place a 911 call, your call will immediately be answered by the first available SVRS interpreter. The interpreter will locate the nearest Emergency Services center that can quickly be dispatched to your location. It is very important to keep your address information up to date for 911 services. If you become unresponsive during an 911 call, help will be sent to the 911 address that you registered with Sorenson. If you move the videophone without updating your location information, help could be mistakenly sent to your old address.
No. There is no GPS or other automatic detection of your location. When you dial 911 using ntouch VP, the Sorenson interpreter will always ask you to verify your location. If you are calling from the provisioned address that you entered into the ntouch VP at the time of set-up, your 911 call will immediately be routed to your local Emergency Services center (or PSAP). If you are not at your provisioned address, you will be asked to give your present address or location. Your 911 call will then be routed to the local Emergency Services center.

From the ntouch VP Home screen, first select the Settings button and then the Location button. You can then update your address information at the 911 Location Info screen. The address you enter should match the actual location of the ntouch VP. You will always be asked to confirm your address to the Sorenson interpreter during a 911 call.
No. ntouch VP requires a wired (Ethernet) network connection.
No. The camera is a "fixed-focus" design similar to the cameras used on cell phones. You do not need to manually focus the camera lens.
Attach the camera to the camera mount strap and drape the strap over the back of the TV monitor with the camera positioned in front of the monitor.

You can request a replacement remote from Sorenson Technical Support by sending an email request to support@sorenson.com. You can also press the SVRS Quick Connect button on the front of the ntouch VP Main Unit to place a call to an SVRS interpreter. You can then request a new remote.
Press the SVRS Quick Connect button on the front of the ntouch VP Main Unit to bring it out of sleep mode. Press it again to place a call to SVRS. The SVRS interpreter will assist you in placing your call.
The SVRS Quick Connect button on the front of the ntouch VP Main Unit is only for SVRS calls through an interpreter. You cannot make a point-to-point call without a remote control. Interpreters can only process VRS calls. An interpreter can place a call for you to a hearing Tech Support person so you can request a new remote control.
Press the SVRS Quick Connect button on the front of the ntouch VP Main to answer an incoming call.
Press the SVRS Quick Connect button on the front of the ntouch VP main unit to hang up a call.
Yes. ntouch VP will work with most home and business networks, and with most firewalls. The Sorenson Trainer will ensure that ntouch VP is working correctly during the installation process.
ntouch VP supports both the traditional H.263 and the higher-quality H.264 video standards.
Any type of high-speed Internet connection (DSL, Broadband Cable, T1, etc.) will work with ntouch VP. For best performance, Sorenson recommends your connection speed be at least 512Kbps. Your ntouch VP will work at lower speeds, but the quality of the video displayed will be better at higher speeds.
A slow network connection is the usual cause of problems with the quality of the video image.
