3G networks are supported by ntouch Mobile for iOS when using an iPhone. Although ntouch Mobile for iOS should work with most Wi-Fi networks when using either an iPhone or an iPod touch, full support is dependent on the network's firewall and security settings. In some cases, you will not be able to receive incoming calls when connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you have problems using an iPhone on a Wi-Fi network, try using the 3G network. Please contact Technical Support for more information.
Yes. Your iPhone must have a data plan to be able to use ntouch Mobile for iOS. A voice plan is not needed unless you'd like to place VCO calls. You can use an iPod touch (4th or 5th generation) over Wi-Fi to make videophone calls without a carrier and data plan.
The ntouch Mobile for iOS app and SVRS service are free. However, your wireless carrier will charge a basic rate per month for data plan access and will charge extra fees for any usage that goes over the limits for the data plan in any month.
All wireless carriers place a limit to how much data can be transferred over their various networks (3G) in a monthly billing cycle. Please contact your carrier to find out the exact costs for your expected amount of data usage.
Videophone calls use about 3-4MB per minute. You will need to keep track yourself of the limits set by the data plan provided by your wireless carrier. If you normally use the 3G service, you should check your data usage regularly so that you avoid being charged for going over your data limit.
Here is as an example to help you understand the current data plans available from carriers. The current data limits are 2GB data transfer limit for 3G service on a certain plan. If you were to use 1GB a month for all types of data except videophone data transferred to your phone (i.e., email, Internet browsing, downloading of files) the remaining number of "minutes" you would have for videophone calls in that month would be about 250 minutes using 3G service. If you were to use more than 1GB for data, then the number of minutes that would be available for videophone calls would be reduced when using 3G service.
Just open the ntouch app. The first time you open the app, you will be prompted for your log-in information.

If you have to change or upgrade your phone in the future, you can easily transfer your ntouch Mobile account to your new phone.
FCC regulations require the use of a separate phone number for videophone services.

Share Location is also helpful when you want to show your current location to a friend on a point-to-point call so they can come meet you.
To use Share Location, simply tap on the Share Location button located at the bottom-left corner of the call screen. You will be asked to confirm your current location on a map display, then the address will be displayed as a text overlay on your self-view and on the screen of the person on the other end of the call. The interpreter will locate the nearest emergency service center who can quickly be dispatched to your location.
Note: It is important to keep your address information up to date for 911 service.
