2010 "Express Yourself" Video Contest Award Winners

Sorenson Communications recognizes the power of visual communication, especially sign language. That is why in early 2010, Sorenson announced the first-ever “Express Yourself” Video Contest. Sorenson offered aspiring video artists the chance to win $1,000 and the opportunity to have their videos shown through the Sorenson Video Center.

Winners of the “Express Yourself” Video Contest were announced on July 22, 2010, at an awards party, held at the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas.

• The winners are:
  •In the “Under 18” category: Eric Epstein, from Tucson, Ariz.
  •In the “Over 18” category: Ewa Zalewska, from McHenry, Ill.
  •In the “Sorenson Employee” category: D. Lance Pickett, from
   Saratoga Springs, Utah

• Winning entries were selected from dozens submitted and were
  judged on:
  •The incorporation of the contest theme “Express Yourself”
  •Originality
  •Creativity
  •Use of sign language and/or representations of deaf culture
  •Cinematography and editing

• Details of the 2011 Sorenson Video Contest, including the new theme and deadline, will be announced in early 2011.
